What I've always been interested in, is healing with medicine from it's organic origins. I'm interested in the alchemists, the healers, and the magicians. The way Native Americans, Sailors, and general vagrants would use stars as not only road-maps, but as life-maps. The way the planets seem to be footprints of the gods, and plants could be used in various forms to heal illness.
In a modern age where these forms of education have been eradicated, and replaced with Algebra and distorted forms of History lessons, the "roots" almost begin to feel like secret knowledge. Smartphones, Twitter, and clouded versions of presumed weather and media, make it apparent that we've truly lost an important part of our humanity. Is it possible that so much of humanity feels isolated, depressed, and confused simply because we feel like we're missing something? Something as vital as stopping to listen to our own breath. The simple fact that we're alive. Something as simple as our roots.
Christian overtaking can certainly be blamed for the brainwashing and constriction of human enlightenment; For the destruction of Paganism, "The Old Religion". It recently came to my attention that the Holiday of St. Patrick's Day, where everybody fancies over green beer while wearing t-shirts that say Kiss Me, I'm Irish! is actually based on the extermination of Pagans in Ireland. It is a secular holiday that much mirrors The Burning Times in Salem, Massachusetts.
With all the prevalent greed in the world, it's not out of the question to say that this sort of hidden agenda is kept for the elite to keep certain knowledge for themselves. And while the spiritual idea of Paganism may not be every-bodies cup of tea, there is certainly an element of humanity that is in constant search for the meaning of life.
Medicine now is a chemical shit-storm in capsule form, instead of proper nutrition and herbal tinctures. Instead of minding toxicity levels within our bodies, we treat ailments with more chemicals and conventional foods void of nutritional value. It's not to say that modern medicine hasn't spawned some significant beneficiaries to treat human ailment, but it's certainly not always the answer.
There's an earthly romanticism to the idea of living The Old Way. I don't plan on discontinuing my use of things like Ibuprofen anytime soon, but the synthesized cities that we're living in create a toxic environment, voiding humans of their humanity. We've sort of missed the point altogether. We missed the good music. The good drugs. And the freedom in the way life was meant to be lived.
Perhaps the meaning of life is hiding behind all the social media, the celebrity entertainment, and unsubstantial music. Perhaps it's as simple as looking up at the stars.
