Piranha 3D & 3DD: Film Review
If you happen to be a fan of Spring Break affiliated horror movies like myself, I might be able to make a suggestion far better than "Spring Breakers". There's something morbidly satisfying about watching scantily-clad characters running (or swimming) for their lives - especially in 3D. Piranha 3D
The story begins when an underwater tremor releases a school of prehistoric bloodthirsty Piranhas. The Lake Victoria spring breakers are far from sobriety, partying recklessly, and entirely unaware that they are about to become fish food.
Piranha 3D implements a B-Movie sort of feel, with it's unnecessarily bloody fish attacks, which somehow compliment the contrast of shiny "Modern Hollywood Horror". Half-naked girls downing Tequila shots, and dancing for an Adult Entertainment company called, "Wild Wild Girls!", is only the beginning of the entertainment. Filmed in Arizona, the blue (and bloody red) lakes, along with golden desert settings provide almost as much eye-candy as the "curvacious" models in metallic bikinis.
What I love most about this movie is it's excessive (or "sexessive") blood and gratuity. Even if the idea of "Spring Break" really isn't your pick of poison, it's difficult to avoid laughing profusely at the ridiculousness and gore.
If you find yourself unable to get enough of this tasteless genre of Horror, than get ready for just as much blood and smut with Piranha 3DD. That's right. DD. If you had the opportunity to this film in theaters, I'm sure there's a specific scene that stood out. Yes, it included DD'S. And blood. Excessively of course.
So, if you're trying to find some Spring Break distraction because it still feels like winter outside, treat yourself with a glass of red wine, and throw on the Piranha Double Feature. I promise it will satisfy the perversions in all of you.
